About Us

It's a Mystery to Me was created by Mike Millar and Carol Riddell; together, through other companies as well as their own, they have over 60 years experience creating and performing in comedic murder mystery dinner theatre!

Mike, a professional actor since 1978 with a BFA from the University of Windsor, has appeared in over 80 commercials, countless TV shows and movies as well as acting on many stages across Canada. Favourite roles include Billy in Billy Bishop Goes To War, Reece in Unexpected Moves and The Narrator in The Good Doctor. Mike has written and co-written (with Carol Riddell) 18 shows for the company.

In love with acting from a young age, Carol appeared in her first professional production in 1982 - Oliver! - at the Sudbury Theatre Centre, and is an honours graduate of the George Brown Theatre School. Since then she has been heard and seen in radio and television commercials, performed on stages across Ontario, worked with various companies in role-play training and created lessons for thousands of students and teachers in Arts Education programs over the past 26 years.

Actors in Canada, or anywhere for that matter, have to be versatile and adaptable. When you come to one of the shows, you'll see actors you may recognize from movies, TV, commercials, theatre, street-busking, or cabarets, bands and choirs. Several of the actors are also writers, directors and producers; some have created work in Corporate settings, assisting businesses through role-play training.

Professional schooling and many years of experience add immeasurably to the shows. These talented actors are constantly improvising and adding new 'bits' - and that keeps the shows fresh and fun!

"I haven't laughed this much in years."

And, "You guys obviously have a lot of fun doing this!"
